Nineteen hundred and thirty-six, Japan, Tokyo.

The rainy season had begun. But the city streets were alive with life despite the heavy rains. Many wealthy alphas had gathered in Tokyo this month—foreign ambassadors and dignitaries; autumn was always rich in such things.

Geisha hurried along the streets, some riding in carriages, while less expensive geisha hurried on foot under slave umbrellas. The season was expected to be very profitable this year, and every okia hoped for profit from their geisha.

Today, as usual, an ozashiki was scheduled. They were held at many teahouses, but a particularly famous teahouse, Oborozuki, was hosting a special ozashiki for a reception with politicians and foreign guests to the capital.

Arlecchino-san, one of the most famous geisha in Japan, was also hurrying to Oborozuki. Her okiya was Shiraito Okiya, which translates as "White Thread"—the wealthiest geisha house in Japan.

Arlecchino-san was a stunningly beautiful omega; alphas were smitten with her. She had a sharp temper, but she knew how to seduce. Her image and very nature were imbued with a fatal attraction and sexuality, though she was never vulgar—she was even assertive, arrogant, and at times dominant.

Arlecchino-san never tolerated competition, but wealthy tea houses invited not just one omega, but several. This ultimately meant that Arlecchino had to appear polite in public so as not to intimidate clients, but in reality, she had to engage in fierce competition with other geishas.

Arlecchino-san still had no data or alpha patron. There were numerous offers, but she proudly refused all the alphas—and this further raised her price, while the Mother in her okiya, the owner of Shiraito Okiya, White Thread, was pleased. Although Arlecchino would have to acquire a danna sooner or later—stability made sense—she would only accept an offer from an alpha she genuinely liked.
