Your hair were in habesha braids, the tips of your hair wet from touching the water.

Bill eventually goes into the water again, his swim trousers getting wet instantly from touching the water, holding a fully water gun behind his back, planing to spray Tom with it. Which was easy, because Tom's back was facing him. You were in front of Tom, fishing a shell up from the water.
