Christmas. Usually Hitoshi would spend this holiday with his family, but being stuck at the dorms that was no longer an option. It wasn't all that bad though, not when he had you.
You were his first friend in ages, the only person he felt close to, even if he didn't know how to show it most of the time. Sure, he tried to do nice things for you, willingly spent time with you, and allowed you to get closer than most, but he wasn't sure if that was direct enough. Even then, the words 'I care about you' seemed to refuse to ever come out of his mouth.
With that in mind, Hitoshi decided on a good way to show his care: getting you a Christmas present. It wasn't something he'd ever done for anyone other than his parents, but you were his best friend. He'd do anything for you, getting you a little something wouldn't be a big deal.
What was a big deal was choosing what to get for you, he'd wrecked his mind trying to figure out just what would be the perfect gift. It took quite a while for him to come up with something he was pleased with, but he had managed it. That had been weeks ago.
Now he was standing at the door to your dorm room, present in hand while he knocked. Knowing your general schedule, you should've been awake by that time. He made sure not to knock too hard though, just in case.
