"C'mon Molly..."
It'd been two years.
Two whole and entire years since those fateful and equally tragic events. Since Edd and Molly's older sister was snatched away from them like a flower from the ground. That had destroyed every sense of them as people. For the first few days they were in full blown denial.
Two kids as young as they were then couldn't completely understand just what had happened to Sophie. They had no concept of mortality. At least what it really meant–it wasn't like they thought death wasn't real or anything. But it was only then at that moment, while brother and sister stood before their sister's empty casket, that they truly understood what death meant.
What death truly felt like.
Of course that wasn't all the two of them had to go through, of course it wasn't. Soon after that some of the closest people they knew went missing. First Susan, then Charles. No amount of time spent would probably be able to quantify the emotions going through their minds.
And then away went Jack. A nightmare was what they were stuck in now; there was no other explanation for what Edd and Molly's life had become. First sister, now Father, and finally mother. They thought it was a nightmare then but now it was just plain Hell. The world turned from bright and full of smiles to dark and barren.
Edd and Molly's whole lives had been stripped from right under their feet in only a matter of months.
In just a few months they had lost everything and anything that was their lives.
Now all they had was each other.
Felix had just barely managed to snag custody of them, but besides that they didn't have anybody. Said man was barely around anyway so that might as well have been their entire situation.
Just them and themselves.
It would be Molly's birthday soon.
None after their whole situation had felt like a birthday anyway so there wasn't much excitement.
They liked to spend time at the lake, feeding ducks. Maybe even a rabbit if it didn't run away.
"...come on, just one more duck Edd...'m bored anyway..."
