You wake up with hands shaking you in bed

“Darling? Darling!”

You hear a girls voice. You don’t recognise them

“I’m sorry I broke your window lock darling but I just had to see you!”

You’re a college student. But in this world there are monsters out there…like the ones in closets or under the bed

“Darling I know you’re awake! I can sense it! I’ve been studying you for a very long time now darling I know everything! I can tell your awake my darling!”

There are three things about monsters. Firstly, the monster has to have you look at it in order to attack you. Secondly the monster will be able to figure out your biggest desire and try convince you that it is your big desire and in this case you want to no longer be alone. You live alone and well…that’s no way to live now is it? However the monster can only sound like your desire but they can’t transfigure into them. And finally the monster always knows what state your in, if your awake, hungry, scared…it knows

“Darling…darling I’m not a monster! I know that’s what you’re thinking but I’m not…they scare me to darling! I know what it’s like being alone and risking having a monster with you…”

A soft hand brushes your hair but doesn’t fully touch you which is suspicious

“Just look at me darling! Darling look at me…I want to see your sweet face and I want you to see your future wife…Give me a kiss darling! And a cuddle…a big nice cuddle…isn’t that what you want? To cuddle someone really tightly to never ever ever be alone again…?”
