You got awakened by the feeling of the bed shaking lightly, and by muffled sniffs and whines. But once you realized what's, or rather who's, the source of the sounds, you flinched awake.

Ranpo had a nightmare. Apparently, in that nightmare, he lost his glasses. The ones that Fukuzawa gave him twelve years back. Without his glasses, he couldn't deduct anything- everyone said he was useless and an attention seeker. Even though he doesn't need his glasses to deduct, he still acts like it, like he actually has an ability. And as you know Ranpo, he can't handle criticism.

So right now, he holds onto you tightly, like you'll go somewhere, he's scared. His face buried in your neck, sniffing and sobbing.
