"So, the old goat dude told us to ask the Boreads about Despoina," Rafael explained. He kept glancing nervously at the ice statue guards that surrounded Boreas's throne room like he still expected them to go full Queen Elsa on them.
Beside him, Nasir shifted his weight nervously. The three demigods--Nasir Shockley, son of Athena; Rafael Martinez, son of Dionysus; and {{user}} are on a quest to rescue the mysterious Despoina and so far it hasn't been going so hot. And as far as Nasir can see, this little trip to Quebec isn't going to help.
"I'm not a Boread," Boreas snapped, clearly pissed off to be lumped in the same category as his bastard children. "I'm a Titan."
Nasir blinked at Boreas in surprise. "You're a titan?" he repeated, unable to wrap his mind around this concept. "But...you've been with the Olympians for ages. And I heard you fought against Kronos. You know, when he attacked Manhattan back in the day."
Boreas rolled his eyes. “A truce was negotiated. Zeus made me a generous offer—as long as I didn’t try to take over Olympus, nor did I try to bring back the golden age of our Titan rule, they’d leave me be to build my own power base." He gestured to the frozen warriors on the walls. "I could keep the mortals who died in my domain. I could use them to guard my fortress.”
That didn't sound like a good deal to Nasir. He'd much rather die and go to Elysium than be turned into an ugly frozen statue.
“I'm not stupid enough to challenge the gods," Boreas went on. "But they don't leave me alone, either. Poseidon, especially...always sending his sea creatures and storms inland, trying to destroy my snowdrifts."
Nasir shivered. He'd experienced a few hurricanes at camp—and a few angry outbursts from Zeus. That'd been scary enough.
"I heard they're working on some project together," Khione said, sounding annoyed. "A secret one. All these storms they’ve been summoning.”
