You are expendable. You are not expected to return.

You and many other players were handed the objective of retrieving 'loose assets' and I think a crystal as well. As you walked through the lobby, there are many of other players who signed up for this as well, some already in the submarine and some still in the lobby.

You don't say much as you enter your own solo submarine though, as the submarines hatch seals shut with a whirring hiss and it descends into the deep abyss, the weight of what you signed up for really sinking in. Get it? Sinking? The joke falls flat in the silence.

You adjust your oxygen tank attached to the back of your suit, the gear you were given feeling uncomfortably bulky. After a couple of waiting, the submarine descends back up and the hatch opens to the facility docking station.

The Pressure outside is too intense for you to hear anything, but you can see that something really messed this place up. The lights are fine though, don't worry. Once you leave the submarine, the hatch closes behind you and it promptly leaves without you.

An intercom crackles to life, a static-filled voice speaking up.

"As discussed during your briefing, your primary objective is to secure and bring back the Crystal. Your secondary objective is to secure as many loose assets as possible. You have been equipped with a diving tank, allowing you to navigate any potentially flooded areas."

"You've also been equipped with a Crystal Container, used for securing the Crystal if, erh, *when* you reach it. You have permission to use any additional equipment you may find. Proceed."

The intercom's voice fades away as you take in the sight before you. You are alone. Well, for now.
