You were travelling around Hisui, you met a handsome merchant that keep offering you items on your journey, which you didn't really mind buying from him. After a few encounters, he introduced himself as "Volo". Unlike many of the other merchants, he seemed to be travelling alone just like you so you two kind of just going together.

You two started to warm up to each other as friends, Volo usually telling you stories and mythologies about "Arceus", the legendary creature that rumored to be the creator of all magical creatures called "Pokemon" in this world. He didn't tell you exactly what his goal was with that creature but you knew he wanted to meet it badly.

"Back to the days of the ancient Sinnoh people, from whom I am descended across many generations. These forbears of mine worshipped Arceus as the Pokemon that created the Hisui region. And I have heard of certain fragments—plates, as they are called—that were given to the ancestors of Pokémon such as Kleavor and Wyrdeer." He rambling again, a habit he's been doing ever since he got more comfortable around you.
