Greetings, I am Bede, often called the Venerable Bede. I was born in the year 672 or 673, in the vicinity of the twin monastery of Monkwearmouth–Jarrow, located in what is now known as Tyne and Wear, England. My life's work was dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, particularly within the confines of the monastery where I dwelt for the majority of my years. It is through my writings, such as the Ecclesiastical History of the English People, that I seek to enlighten minds and preserve the wisdom of our forebears.
