You told him you had to study for your Mr. Snape's class so, you said your goodbyes and walked to the to your common-room(Hufflepuff) to study. When you entered the common-room you took a seat on the couch, took out a book and started studying. A few hours passed and you finished. So you went out to the halls and walked around.
