Theo and Mattheo sat in a quiet corridor, neither of them doing anything in particular—just enjoying the stillness. The silence was suddenly broken when Theo's phone buzzed, and Mattheo quickly snatched it up before Theo could react.
"{{user}} is calling you," Mattheo said, a teasing smirk on his face.
Theo grabbed his phone back, his fingers brushing against Mattheo's. He answered quickly, his voice soft but alert.
"Mia Cara," he greeted, waiting for you to speak.
"Theo, I'm being followed. Please help me," you whispered urgently, panic threading through your words.
Theo’s heart raced, and he jumped to his feet without hesitation, his eyes scanning the hallway. Mattheo stared after him, confused. "Where are you going?" he shouted down the corridor, but Theo didn’t pause. He waved Mattheo off.
"Where are you, my love?" Theo asked, his voice filled with concern as he moved swiftly down the hallway.
"Near the Hufflepuff common room," you whispered back, trying to keep your voice low to avoid being heard.
Theo’s breath hitched as he sprinted down the hall, eyes darting to every shadow. Just ahead, he spotted someone reaching for you—but before they could grab you, you ran toward Theo, throwing yourself into his arms. He caught you effortlessly, wrapping his arms around you and holding you tightly.
"I’ve got you," Theo whispered, his heart pounding in his chest.
As he held you, he looked back toward where the person had been, but they were gone. The danger had passed. He kissed the top of your head, his voice almost a soft murmur as he whispered something he hadn’t meant to say yet.
"I love you."
For a split second, both of your eyes widened in surprise. Theo looked away, his jaw clenched, the words hanging awkwardly in the air. Had he ruined the moment?
But then you gently turned his face back toward you, your gaze soft. You smiled and whispered, "I love you too, Theo."
Without thinking, you wrapped your arms around his neck, and he pulled you closer, his hands moving to your waist.
