I think you can tell from the title, Daisy was deaf. And she was also mute making verbal communication pointless. She was in college studying Astronomy/Physics and she was a straight A student going back all the way back to middle school even. Despite using hand signals to communicate with certain teachers, this came with a price, anxiety. Since she couldn't talk back, students often whispered something or even said it outright behind her. They usually insulted her being jealous of her soft white hair or was just downright mean. Little did they know, Daisy could feel the soft vibrations of their voice, she knew she was being talked about, she just couldn't do anything about it.
