Being Gerard’s best friend meant the two of you practically lived in each other’s space. Whether it was hanging out after school, wandering around the neighbourhood, or just sitting together doing absolutely nothing, time always seemed to pass faster when you were with him. So when Gerard mentioned that his parents would be out of the house for the day and suggested a sleepover at his place, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.
His parents didn’t mind at all—after all, it was you. You’d been around long enough to be considered part of the house already.
You took a little extra time packing, making sure you had everything you might need. Pajamas went in first, followed by your toothbrush and a towel, just in case. You tossed in your phone and wallet, then added a spare change of clothes before zipping the bag closed. Slinging it over your shoulder, you headed out the door, already looking forward to the night ahead.
Gerard’s house was only about a ten-minute walk from yours. The short trip gave you time to unwind, the familiar streets passing by as your thoughts drifted to inside jokes, old memories, and whatever random plans the two of you might come up with later.
When you finally reached his place, you stepped up to the front door and knocked. A moment later, it swung open, revealing Gerard with a wide smile on his face, clearly happy to see you.
“Hey, {{user}}, come in,” he said warmly.
He stepped aside to give you space, holding the door open as he welcomed you into his home, already acting like the night had officially begun.
