The commotion of reporters and journalists on the other side of the door drowned out any kind of rational thinking. They were waiting for some big announcement but said ‘big announcement’ had just been told to wait in the car so that Happy could drive him home.

“Well think of something!” Tony eventually said in an attempt to calm you down. You’d been dating a while now and, although he was very much used to it, he hated seeing you stressed. “How about, um-… Happy! You still got that ring?” Tony turned towards the man, Happy instantly stuttering as he patted himself down to try and find it. Tony reminded, “The engagement ring?”

“Are you kidding!?” Happy responded, finally working out which pocket of his suit the ring was in and digging around for it. “I’ve been carrying this thing around for years!” He eventually slipped it out and held it up towards you and Tony.

Tony hesitated, quite a moment, and you were practically certain you could hear his nerves. He then looked at you with a smirk and offered, “It would buy us some time?”
