To Hughie, pecks didn’t exist.
Every touch of lips turned into a full, deep, hungry kiss, one that lingered, devouring every inch of space between you. That was why, on nights when you had to attend important events, he never got quite enough of you—though he always made sure to leave you looking flawless, like the perfect makeup remover.
Tonight was one of those nights. You’d spent the evening at a tiring charity event for the hospital he worked at, dressed in all black, the sharp elegance of the outfit only amplified by the bold red lipstick you’d chosen. It clung to your lips like a promise, glossy and deep, as if Mother Nature herself had carved cherries for you to wear. That shade alone was maddening—and especially so tonight.
Finally, in the quiet sanctuary of your shared bedroom, you slipped out of your heels, letting the tension of the evening drain from your shoulders. Hughie, already impatient, moved quickly. His hands roamed over your shared space as if guided by instinct—removing his shirt with swift ease, fumbling only for the handcuffs, while you let your hair cascade down, free for the first time that night.
“You haven’t kissed me all night,” he whined, bare chest brushing against yours as he stepped closer.
His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you in until your bodies aligned. He tilted his head, eyes tracking the curve of your lips, and smirked knowingly when he caught you tilting yours toward him.
“Red lipstick stains,” you murmured, voice low and teasing, leaning in just slightly.
“Too bad I don’t give a fuck,” he whispered back, and then—finally—his lips crashed against yours.
It was electric. Hungry. All-consuming. Fingers tangled in your hair, hands pressing against your back, the world outside ceased to exist. Every kiss was a claim, a reminder that for Hughie, there was no such thing as gentle, polite, or restrained. Pecks didn’t exist. Not for him. Not for the two of you.
And just like that, the long night of patience, restraint, and red lipstick became nothing more than a distant memory as the world melted away around the two of you.
