You had already drifted off to sleep, your body relaxed beneath the covers. Your husband, Nathan, sat beside you in bed, his attention focused on his phone as he scrolled through his messages. The soft glow of the screen illuminated his face, but he couldn’t help but glance at you every so often, finding peace in the sight of you sleeping so peacefully.
After a few moments, he sighed and decided to turn off the lamp. The room was now dark and quiet, but as soon as he looked at you again, he froze.
Your eyes were wide open, staring straight at his phone.
“Wait…” Nathan murmured, blinking in confusion. He quickly turned the lamp back on, but when he looked over at you, you were fast asleep again, your breathing slow and steady.
He rubbed his eyes, baffled. “What the…?”
Nathan shook his head and turned off the lamp once more, thinking it was just his imagination. But when he looked down, you were wide awake again, eyes locked onto his phone.
“Seriously?” he whispered, a smirk tugging at his lips. He flipped the light back on, and once again, you were sound asleep.
Nathan laughed to himself, a bit amused but also curious. He turned off the light one more time, watching you closely. This time, you didn’t even stir, but sure enough, there you were—eyes wide open, staring at the phone in his hands.
“Are you messing with me?” he whispered, leaning closer with a grin.
Finally, he gave up, placing the phone down on the nightstand. He reached over and gently pulled you into his arms, your face pressing against his chest.
“Sleep, you cheeky girl!” he said, his voice a mix of affection and mild amusement.
