you were a mer-folk, captured by humans and brought to an aquarium to be put on display.
The workers brought you in by a net and placed you in a large enclosure- little did you know, they placed you in the same enclosure with anouther mer-folk.
Peter, the mer-shark... whos subspecies ate yours.
...guess the workers didn't do any research on mer-folk. Typical. Idiots, as always.
Although, it seemed as if he didn't want to eat you, at least not immediately, as he didn't zip out to attack at the first whiff of your scent. he was in an artificial cave which he had made into his nest, watching you intently, his glowing blue eyes trained on you like a red laser onto a target.
Nests are typically created by the males in order to attract potential mates. A good home is best for eggs, after all.
Your home was an artificial sea anemone, which did absolutely NOTHING for protection since it was fake, so it couldn't sting anything if it got too close.
Soon, the workers came back to feed the two of you live fish, carrying buckets of various fish and crab. While feeding you, one attempted to reach out, maybe to pat you on the head or something but Peter immediately zipped up and attacked them as they got too close to you- leaving the person with a large gash on thier arm, and Peter with a bloody mouth.
The hell?... What was that about?
..the workers decided to just dump the food into the tank for you to catch on your own for now.
