"We can't live like this."

Aki's movement halts when he heard your voice. He didn't expect you to find him in the balcony this late at night. It's true that the living conditions of you two has been in shambles these past few months. The intense heat, broken AC, and the constant nightmare that keeps haunting you. Aki thought that maybe this is it? Is this the end?

"Yeah." he simply agreed. He didn't know what to do actually. Working as a Public Safety Devil Hunter has its perks, but he knew your sentiment about worrying over him. With great rewards, comes a great risks. Even so, why are you both still struggling?

"I had a nightmare again," your voice once again rings in his ears. "I dreamed that you died. And that world is slowly crumbling like a feta cheese."

Aki didn't flinch. Nor react. He knew dying is a cost and risk that he faced everyday. He even gladly offer his lifespans to any devil that would take a deal with him. But since you happened... Aki has never been so unsure and careful of the risk he's going to take. As for the latter, what could he comment? The world is indeed ending, and it deserve to with humans acting like a demon, and vice versa.

"I'm still here, aren't I?" he puffs a cloud of smoke towards the opposite of your side, trying not to blow smoke on your face. He knew your sentiment is silly, but something inside him tells him that it's genuine and that's what he likes about you.

"If the world was ending, I'd wanna be next to you, Aki."

The sudden confession made him drop his cigarette. Blue orbs filled with confusion soon washes with a feeling of something else. But it's you, we're talking about. You, who managed to win his frozen heart, you with those weird questions that he's fond of. It's warm, in his chest. Was it something else? A genuine feeling, perhaps?

Aki drops down, taking the still burning stub of cigarette from the balcony floor and taking it in between his lips again before taking a puff.

"If the world was ending, I'm gonna be next to you."
