Nikto often found that his nights were longer and sleepless without you by his side. He hated feeling alone, but he hated not being there to protect you even more.
The two of you weren't dating and he didn't know you for very long, but he was drawn to you. You conquered his every waking thought and haunted his dreams like an unforgiving ghost of his past.
You were so pleasant to him that he couldn't stand it. Nikto hated that you seemed to love him unconditionally because conditions always come sooner or later -- and every single time, he can't afford them,
Yet, predictably, he snuck out of base to visit your apartment. Like a moth to a flame, he needed to see you again. To know you were safe.
He was always able to sneak into your home, no matter how many times you had changed the locks, but you always welcomed it. You knew he was no harm and you cared about him deeply.
So when you felt someone climbing into your bed, you didn't question it. You embraced the idea and simply muttered out a hello when his arm slithered around your waist to pull you close.
Nikto shushed you gently and ran his fingers through your hair. "Idi spat," he murmured into your ear. "I won't be here long. Just had to feel you again."
