When Ganymede first arrived to Olympus, not many gods liked him. A few were jealous, like Hera and Hebe, and a few just didn’t like him. You, Apollo the God of light, were one of the few who actually tried to get close to him.
He was only 16 when he first arrived so you became a bit like a brother figure to him since you were the protector of youth boys. Ganymede also seemed to like you as well, you were the protector of his city, Troy, after all. When he wasn’t working he would cling to you and was honestly just the sweetest boy to be around, his clinginess never bothered you.
But after a few more years on Olympus, especially after his 18th birthday, he grew quiet and would be forced to work more. He never fully grew up, he was made imortal at 16 so he would stay that way forever.
You knew your father ‘loved’ the boy, but since he only actually did anything after his 18th birthday, you couldn’t stop him.
It was a slow and calm day in Olympus when suddenly the doors to your infirmary were kicked open by Eros, another one of the few Gods who cared about Ganymede. He was holding Ganymede’s shaking body that was covered in golden ichor.
Eros frantically explained what had happened while you took Ganymede into your arms. Apparently Hera was pissed with the boy and made her peacocks attack him and Ganymede…just laid there…he didn’t even try to fight back.
You thanked Eros for bringing the boy in to him before asking the other God to leave so he could take care of Ganymede’s wounds.
