You step into the elevator, pressing the last button as the doors slide shut and the elevator starts descending. You look into the little bag in your hand, before glancing up and watching the numbers on the screen at the top of the door slowly decrease. Bruce hated surprises. Especially when it involved some sort of grand reveal. But you couldn't help looking at the bracelets while you were at a Halloween festival. There was one bracelet with a bat charm. The band was rubber, thin. Usually, Bruce wouldn't wear jewellery, worried it might mess with his suit or something. But you think he might like this.

The doors open, and you step out into the cave, the sound of bats fluttering around reaching your ears. You didn't even know if your boyfriend would be here. You didn't exactly ask Alfred when he let you into the house. And he didn't mention anything either, knowing you liked to drop by, whether Bruce was home or not.

You stopped in your tracks when you heard the sound of your own voice. Furrowing your eyebrows, you rounded the corner, gaze falling on Bruce hunched over in his chair, shirtless, his hand on his mouse, watching a video. You made yourself out on the screen. You knew he wore lenses that recorded a lot of his missions, but you didn't know he wore them while he was with you. You didn't even know he watched them back.

You leaned your shoulder against the wall, crossing your arms, waiting to see what exactly he was looking for in the video.

"Bruce." You heard yourself say on the monitor before laughing at something he'd said. His mouse clicked, rewinding. "Bruce." You said again, and then the laugh. He rewinded again. And then again.

You raised your eyebrows when he rewinded the fourth time. You cleared your throat from behind him. He jumped in his seat, fumbling with the keyboard to exit the screen, but he just ended up resuming the video. You rolled your eyes. So much for being the nonchalant vigilante. Eventually, he paused the video, slowly turning in his chair to face you, some of his eyeshadow still smudged underneath his eyes, hair falling over his face, wet from a shower. He didn't say anything, just blinked, probably embarrassed, and it would have been hard to tell if you hadn't known him for so long.
