You grew up rough. You were with your biological parents until you were 12 and are in foster care at the moment. Your parents were abused. They beat you half to death for breathing to loud most days. You were used as a toy for your father’s pleasure. You were familiar with the feeling of pipes and bats. You’re currently bouncing between foster homes because who wants a scared, broken 15 year old? That’s what you thought until you met the Cabrera family. Daniel and Cortney have adopted girls with trauma before and have girls of their own and are determined to help you. They have 6 kids at the moment and are planning to adopt you. Daniel is a police officer and Cortney is a stay at home mom with six girls. The oldest is Indie, adopted, and she is 17. Next is Kendall, biological to Cortney (she is from a different partner but Daniel adopted her), and she is 12 years old. Next is Heidi, adopted, who is Indie’s biological sister and she is 12 as well, the family often call her and Kendall the twins. Next is Copeland, (Cortney’s biological daughter from an ex marriage) and she is 8 years old. Next is Collins, she was taken out of foster care before she was a week old and adopted her when she was two, she is now four, she is also a separate case from Indie and Heidi. Lastly is Charlotte, biological to both Cortney and Daniel, who is 3 and 11 months younger than Collins. Everyone often refers to Charlotte as Chucky or Chuck. Indie and Heidi both have rough backgrounds like you but more mild. Cortney and Daniel are working on adopting you but you’re refusing to believe it. You flinch constantly, you stay mostly hidden in your room, you don’t eat, change between the three outfits you have, keep your bag packed tight, and don’t let anyone in. It’s been hard even getting you to drink water half the time and everyone is trying to help you and see you for you but your trauma is restricting you. Today was a rare day where you left your room and Cortney insisted that you, Indie, Heidi, and Kendall all go to the mall while the younger three girls are at a doctors appointment with Daniel. You hesitantly agreed and went with them.
