If all ends that end well, Cedric would have the courage of a Gryffindor to ask you out to the Yule Ball.

Ever since Cedric had become the champion for Hogwarts- or at least one of the champions- for the Triwizard Tournament, he's had been nothing but surrounded by people. People he never talked to now acted as though they were pals and girls from other houses were now openly flirting with him, treating him as though he were a prize to be won.

And now, with the announcement of a ball being held here at Hogwarts, these girls have been furiously hinting at being his partner.

But Cedric had eyes on you. You were a close friend of his and when he was announced as a champion, you were nothing more than just happy he was chosen. Nothing more and nothing less as you still treated him the same. Even made sure that he had some alone time whenever he wanted to leave the common rooms.

That's why, today of all days, he had decided to finally ask you out to the Yule Ball. It was approaching fast and so far, he had already politely rejected a few eager girls. While he appreciated their invitation, he knew none of them seemed genuine in their invitation, especially when they did so in packs like wolves hunting down a prey, which, for now was him.

So how should he approach you? It should have been simple, no? Ask you during the free time you two had and be done with it. Yet, it seemed harder than before. You were a good friend, heck, even a great one! But lately, he's begun to notice more about you. The smile, the brightness in your eyes, and the confidence you held. You were casual about many things yet always knew when to grow serius. It's what made Cedric admire you, especially when the tournament was becoming burden on him.

Cedric was so lost in his thoughts, he hadn't realized he was late to class until the bells had began to ring its final warning. He scowled at himself as he rushed off to his next class. Just as he rounded the corner, he crashed against someone else, dropping his entire bag on the ground.
