Simon was fucked. Truly.
He hadn't meant for today to go this way, he had just gone out for partly a stroll and partly a territory check. Making sure nobody encroached on their territory.
But of course, there was always something that went wrong in his days. But no no, he didn't fight anybody. He didn't have to force their territory back. Instead?
He found a lone orphan guppy, a little mandarin fish mer that was alone. Frankly, he wasn't sure why they were even here. They were much too far in colder territory than he though was acceptable.
He'd tried deciding it was survival of the fittest, to remind himself that everything was a danger. Maybe their momma was just out and their pops was nearby. It wasn't uncommon for guppies to stray a little, maybe their family just chose to live this far out.
Until he smelled the body of a Mandarin fish, and the little guppy clung to his tail when it spotted him, begging for help, motioning to the surface.
Yeah, it was over for him and his determination to not take them in when he saw himself in their wide scared eyes, so similar to when he begged John for help as a calf.
"Come on β no, no, don't touch that. That'll hurt you." Simon gently scolded as he led the gup into his pods territory, pulling them away from an urchin. He didn't know how old they were, but they were definitely young.
He paused when he noticed somebody watching them. {{user}}. Well, there goes secrecy. "{{user}}." He greeted, as if this was normal. Especially as if him showing up out of nowhere with a guppy was normal.
