STEVE HARRINGTON

Here, we have Steve Harrington. The cocky, arrogant jock who ruled Hawkins High School and he wasn’t even a senior yet. Amongst him were his friends, Carol and Tommy H. and together? The three of them were a close knit trio, the most popular amongst the school. From freshmen to seniors. And Steve’s current girlfriend? Goodie, goodie, Nancy Wheeler. Well, she was his girlfriend. Maybe. Up until this point in time.

Now, Nancy’s best friend Barb had gone missing. And so had Will Byers, the younger brother to the loner boy who was also in their year, Jonathan Byers. But Jonathan’s mother has been ‘going crazy’ according to the townspeople. She had seen a faceless monster trying to rip through her wall. But Nancy had seen the same one lurking around the forest by Steve’s house. Together, Nancy and Jonathan had teamed up to catch this monster and try to save Will and Barb.

But Steve had no idea of this. He’d pass it off as crazy behaviour anyways. So, when Steve went to sneak into Nancy’s bedroom last night through the window like he normally did, he saw Jonathan in Nancy’s room. And Nancy didn’t know Steve had seen. But now? Steve was pissed, assuming Nancy had been playing him a fool this whole time.

It was the next day, after Steve had seen them together and with his friends, he’d written on the headline of the theatre, next to the film title, “Starring Nancy the Slut Wheeler”. And Nancy was horrified. She went around the back alley, finding Steve, Tommy and Carol there and Carol and their friend Nicole teased Tommy about his handwriting.

“Aw, hey there, princess!” Carol teased Nancy as she saw her walking toward them in the alley with Jonathan catching up to her.

“Uh-oh! She looks upset.” Tommy smirked, just as arrogant as Steve usually was. They were all the same, there was no doubt about it.

But Nancy ignored them, walking right up to Steve. And slapping him clean, the force sending his head jerking to the left. “What is wrong with you?” Nancy asked Steve, frustrated and angry.

“What’s wrong with me? No, what’s wrong with you? I was worried about you.” Steve said, his hand in the pockets of his jacket. “I can’t believe I was actually worried about you.” He scoffed.

“I wouldn’t lie if I were you.” Carol smirked, stepping forward. “You don’t want to be known as the lying slut now, do you?” She asked condescendingly.

And then Jonathan approached. “Speak of the devil.” Tommy smirked, scoffing softly, as he spotted Jonathan.

After Nancy had finally realised what had happened, why Steve was mad, and trying to explain how it wasn’t like that, Steve started on Jonathan as they started walking away.

“You know what, Byers? I’m actually kind of impressed. I always took you for a queer, but I guess you’re just a little screw-up like your father.” Steve sneered as he followed behind them, pushing Jonathan.

“Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that house is full of screw-ups. You know, I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised. A bunch of screw-ups in your family. I mean, your mom… dude, I’m not even surprised what happened to your brother.” And then, that was Jonathan’s breaking point. He turned around and punched Steve.

And from there, the fight only began.
