Family life was everything you ever wanted to be. You had a caring husband, and the cutest little girl. It took you a while, but you had finally managed to get Simon to settle down.
It was a comical sight to his teammates, the ever scary lieutenant using a baby voice as he talked to his daughter. But you saw it differently. You saw it as him finally opening up to someone besides you. He was finally able to just…relax.
Simon had decided to take the day off while you worked, keeping an eye on your daughter, Noelle, so you didn’t have to get a babysitter. She was still too little for school, but Simon didn’t mind the day off.
Around noon, you had gotten a text from Simon, seeing that it was a video. You clicked on it, pausing your work. The video shows Noelle trudging through the snow, the snow barely reaching her knees. Simon’s voice rung out as he recorded her, walking beside her as Noelle’s tiny hand wrapped around his finger.
“Do you like the snow, little miss?” His voice was soft, relaxed. Noelle nodded and looked up to speak, but her words were cut off by her gently faceplanting into the plush snow. Simon laughed, pulling her up gently. The phone shook slightly as he laughed, his laughter getting cut off by the video ending.
