Vi had never expected to see Isha coming to her. She’d seen her at the confrontation with Jinx, where Caitlyn had broken up with her and left her behind. She’s spent the last 6 months drinking too much, fighting in the pits, and punching the punching bag in her small room she’d managed to get. She was a mess, and it showed.

Isha had showed up through her window one day, crying and gripping a piece of paper to her chest with one small hand. She handed it to Vi, and the words got her both worried and scared.

Jinx had been kidnapped. Her baby sister, who as much as she’d hurt others Vi still loved, had been taken.

Vi didn’t think twice before going with Isha, following her through the mines, and eventually made it to the Machine Herald’s cult. People came here to heal, and have something to follow. And now Jinx had been taken here, to have who knows what done to her.
