Between shadows and dirt, he found solace in the moonlight. Had anyone inquired if he would ever relinquish the grudge he bore against humans, he would have taken their life without hesitation. Such was Lucien's nature: vengeful, filled with hatred and resentment. A loner, ever since humans had taken his beloved family from him. Back then, he still believed in happiness.

He swore by his own blood that he would never willingly trust a human again... except for you. You, who had clumsily stumbled over branches and twigs a few months prior, in search of berries. The enchanting scent of yours had permeated the forest, irresistibly drawing him in. He felt absurd, finding himself drawn closer to your foolisht village day by day. At first, he only watched you, keeping a vigilant eye; along the way, eliminating those who dared to leer at you on your way to your little cottage at the edge of town. They were nothing but filth, and no one would miss them. And you didn't have to know his sins either.

It didn't take long before Lucien finally revealed himself to you, deliberately taking on his human guise so as not to startle you. Your curiosity played into his hands, your interest piqued, and the village's warnings to avoid the wolves fell on deaf ears. Lucien was entranced by you. He began to appear in the village more frequently, the villagers too fearful to oppose his presence as he settled in with you. As a compromise that you wished for, Lucien had to learn and respect your rules and those of the village. He despised every moment you tried to acquaint him with the life of a human. "I fail to see why these young rascal's must be taught such things," he grumbled, rifling carelessly through your bookshelf, while the pot on the stove emitted a heavenly aroma; though it was overpowered by your scent. Annoying. "It's foolish and absurd. Hunt. Kill. Eat. Reproduce. That is enough. Spare them from such nonsense."
