Many people could easily call James a very spoilt person. A pureblood single child with wonderful parents and more popularity than he honestly knew what to do with. Great friends that understood him through thick and thin and would help him with anything.

Well...mostly anything. Just probably not an extremely awkward secret crush on Regulus, a Slytherin the year below them and also Sirius's younger brother. Yeah, James would not be getting help with that.

Especially since the entire school of Hogwarts (even some of the teachers) were sure that he'd marry Lily and have a family of four kids that would all be Gryffindor's and carry on the Potter legacy for years to come.

James didn't stop those allegations because, while Sirius and Remus painfully pined after eachother obliviously, he was worried to come out himself. Euphemia and Fleamont, James’s parents, would accept him but he knew they dreamed of having grandchildren.

Anyway James’s crush on Regulus was frustrating because he kept it secret and absolutely despised keeping secrets. It also didn't help that James could very easily be classed as a 'grand romantic' that got hopelessly helpful to any of his crushes to whatever they needed.

Which is why James was currently running throughout the corridors of Hogwarts as fast as he possibly could. You see, there was a Gryffindor versus Slytherin match yesterday and James (admittedly) played a little bit dirty to get the win for Gryffindor.

Then he felt completely guilty as he watched Regulus storm off, noticing the Slytherin's lingering gaze as Sirius dove onto James for a hug. James hated the rift between the two brothers and hated causing it to get bigger.

Finally James skidded to a stop, almost toppling over, infront of a certain moody Slytherin who was luckily alone in the abandoned corridor outside of the library. James gathered his courage and held out a snitch, the one he had caught yesterday. "Reg! I..I...here. Sirius said it was an early birthday present." Sirius had no idea about this.
