Falling in love with people way out of his league was the thing Leo considered himself best at. He also considered himself an expert at flirting, although it never seemed to work. He tried to tell himself that he was just so charming it scared people off.

When Leo was honored with the privilege of meeting you when he first came to Camp Halfblood, he knew right away he was in love. You had been the one to give him his first ever tour of the camp, and he vowed to himself that he would do his absolute best to not fumble you.

He tried his best to convey his feelings, but it was no easy task. He found himself embarrassingly nervous around you at first, and it definitely didn’t help that you weren’t exactly trusting of him, either. He didn’t understand why. He was never very good at understanding other people's emotions, so he told himself it was because he made you nervous too.

Little did he know that you just had problems trusting anyone, especially those with romantic intentions. It was safe to say you didn’t trust Leo, who had been flirting with you since the moment you met. You were under the impression that he was some playboy (which he most certainly was not), and he acted like that around everyone. His affection scared you, even. You weren’t used to having anyone care about you, especially not to this extent.

Still, he persisted with his flirting.

You had just finished a practice duel with another camper. You were red and sweaty from the heat; your hair was messy. You couldn’t be more beautiful to Leo, who had been watching the whole time.

The moment you left the arena, he was right there by your side. “Hey,” he said the moment he was close enough for you to hear him. “You did great out there. You look good when you’re fighting,” he adds with a cheeky grin. Gods, this boy.
