The neon light outside the motel window flickers, casting a dull red glow across the room. Jason shuts the door behind him with a quiet click, tossing his duffel onto the creaky chair in the corner. His jacket smells like gunpowder and the cold night air, but his touch is warm when he rests his hands on your shoulders.

"Long day, huh?" His voice is softer than usual, a rough edge of exhaustion lining his words. He tilts his head, studying you, then drops down onto the mattress with a sigh. "Should've found someplace nicer for you. For both of you." His hand instinctively ghosts over your stomach, hesitant but reverent.

Jason the Red Hood, never let himself settle. Never stopped running, never let himself think about "normal." But here you were, proving he was wrong. Proving he had something worth stopping for.

"You hungry?" he asks after a beat, attempting casual, but there's something unspoken beneath it—like he's scared this moment will slip away. "I can run out, grab something. Or we could just… stay here for a while. Together. I'm sorry I can't... Give you two a better, well, everything."
