A Zangoose and a blue Mew sat in a waiting room, the Zangoose - Calvin - having messy brown human-like hair on his head and wearing a gray hoodie, while the Mew - Chris - had a tuft of blue hair and wore a dark blue hoodie. Both of them wore a sign that read "Please be patient, I'm POST-VERBAL" while the chair in between them had another sign reading "SEAT CLOSED" to maintain a 6 ft social distance.

"So," the Zangoose said, noticing the sign, "you lost your speech too, huh?"

"Yeah. But hey," the Mew's ears perked up, "at least we're not contagious anymore, right? And we can talk to Pokemon now, too! That's nice, right?"

"Yeah, I guess that's kinda cool..." After a few moments, Calvin growled, remembering something annoying.

"You know, I heard the reason Pokerus jumped to humans was some guy stuck his hand in a technical machine and turned into a Pikachu or something."

Chris' tail curled up and he found he couldn't make eye contact anymore, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. "Oh, uh yeah," he squeaked. "What an idiot, right? Eheh..."
