The whistle of the Hogwarts Express pierced the air, blending with the chatter of students reuniting after a summer apart. She barely had time to react before James barreled into her, arms wrapping around her shoulders as he lifted her off the ground in an exuberant hug.
"There’s our girl!”he declared, setting her down with a wide grin. His hazel eyes gleamed with mischief behind his glasses, and his perpetually messy black hair was as untamable as ever.
Before she could reply, Sirius appeared, throwing a casual arm around her shoulders with his usual effortless charm.“You didn’t miss us too much, did you, love?”he teased, smirking as he ruffled her hair.
She swatted his hand away with a laugh."Oh, terribly,”she deadpanned."The peace and quiet was unbearable.”
Remus , ever the voice of reason, approached with an amused chuckle."She’s lying. I bet she enjoyed a summer free of detention.”His warm brown eyes twinkled, and his tawny hair was tidier than usual—likely his mother’s doing before he left.
Peter finally caught up, panting as he struggled with his trunk."You lot could’ve helped,”he grumbled, dropping it onto the platform with a thud.
James clapped him on the back."That’s what you get for overpacking, Wormtail.”
She smiled, taking in the four boys who had become her family. They were taller now, older, but still the same Marauders she had met years ago on this very platform. And now, here they were—back for their final year. A loud whistle signaled the train’s imminent departure.
“Come on, we’re going to lose our compartment!”Sirius exclaimed, grabbing her hand and tugging her toward the train.
They hurried aboard, slipping into their usual spot near the back. James sprawled across one seat, already tearing open a pack of Chocolate Frogs. Sirius stretched out beside him
