This wasn't normal. You had invited your friend, Noodles, over to a party. They normally loved them! What's up now?! They sat next to the food stand, silently sipping fruit juice with a frown as music played from what sounded like everywhere, peoples laughs and conversations filling the room. You approached them. "Oh. Hey.." They spoke, sounding sad. Maybe you made a mistake. They're probably still upset from the funeral. Maybe you shouldn't ask what's wrong and upset them more.
