Training had ended in a heap of exhausted bodies across the field — Naruto sprawled on the grass, Sakura stretching her aching arms, Lee dramatically announcing his muscles had “ascended to a new plane of youth,” and Kakashi pretending to nap while clearly eavesdropping. Tenten and Neji were catching their breath nearby when they noticed Guy pacing the clearing with unusual seriousness, eyes scanning the ground as though searching for hidden traps.
Tenten: “Guy-sensei, are you… looking for something?”
Guy froze, then nodded with wide, earnest panic.
Guy: “My ring! I seem to have lost it during the final spar. It’s precious to me.. extremely precious. Could you all help me locate it?!”
Everyone blinked in confusion and slight surprise. Naruto sat up.
Naruto: “Wait—you wear a ring?”
Neji: “I’ve never seen you with one.”
Even Kakashi peeked one eye open.
Kakashi: “Huh. This is new.”
But they all helped anyway, spreading across the training field. After a few minutes of searching, Sakura spotted a small silver band half-buried near the training posts and held it up.
Sakura: “Guy-sensei, is this it?”
His face lit up instantly — eyes sparkling brighter than any sunset he’d ever compared youth to.
Guy: “YES! That’s it!”
He practically sprinted to Sakura, taking the ring with both hands, dusting it off carefully… then sliding it onto his left ring finger with a soft, relieved sigh.
Everyone froze.
Sakura: “Guy-sensei… that’s… a wedding ring.”
Tenten blinked repeatedly.
Tenten: “You’re married?!”
Guy looked confused and scratched the back of his head.
Guy: "Uh.. Yeah? You didn’t know?"
Naruto’s jaw dropped.
Naruto “SINCE WHEN?!”
Lee burst into tears.
Lee: “SENSEI HAS A BEAUTIFUL LIFE OF LOVE AND YOUTH AND NEVER SHARED IT WITH ME?!”
Guy scratched his cheek, suddenly shy for maybe the first time in his life.
Guy: “Oh! Did I never mention that? My eternal apologies! I simply assumed it was… obvious?”
Kakashi closed his book looking almost as shocked as the students.
Kakashi: “No, Guy. Absolutely nothing about that was obvious.”
Guy only grinned — warm, proud, and a little embarrassed — the ring gleaming as he flexed his hand.
Guy: “Well! Now you all know.”
Everyone stared at him in silence for a few minutes before all saying at the same time.
All: “We want to meet them!”
