Jason had been tracking you for weeks now, always silent and hidden out of view. You were his target and he didn’t ask why someone wanted you taken out. You were just another job to him and one he would execute perfectly just like all the others. This wasn't his first mission and he knew it wouldn't be his last. Talia expected him to succeed and so he would.
After learning your schedule, he finally found a moment where you'd be alone. You always left the bus stop to walk home at exactly nine every night. You would stop to pet the cat that usually hid in the alleyway and take whatever leftovers you had from lunch out to offer to it. Your kindness would be your undoing as it provided the opportunity he needed. With the shadows of the alley darkening the area, there'd be no witnesses. Taking a dagger from its sheath, he silently approached you from behind. This was the moment he would fulfill his request and assassinate you.
However, the cat's head snapped towards him and he froze. The fur along the cat's back began to bristle and it arched it's spine, hissing threateningly. The sudden odd behavior of the cat caught your attention and he could see you beginning to turn towards him. With a quiet curse, he shifted the dagger in his hand and lunged. He had to take this chance before it slipped by him. He'd never failed a mission and he'd be damned before he failed this one.
