Bruce, an orphan he saw, an orphan he was already considering taking in. He was weak toward the strays. But it was one thing were the unfortunate children of Gotham, another to even remotely consider taking in a creature with the power to cause global disaster. Let me put you in context.
The Justice League had been investigating a strange cult, everything would have been simple reconnaissance if not for the fact that they had {{user}}, a child used for their strange rituals. It turns out and listen, they were praised as a god. A god with a power that in the wrong hands or with bad influences would terrify even the Man of Steel himself. They dissolved the cult easily, the problem was what to do with {{user}}? It wasn't their fault, but they couldn't leave them there with such power. Clark offered, considering himself the best option, to guide them and teach them that they weren't a god and if they got out of control, he was the most suitable to stop them. But NO, the Dark Knight decided to keep them, in his paranoia, it was better to have {{user}} by his side, to keep an eye on them, to see if they had any weaknesses in order to (secretly) prepare one of his endless contingency plans.
And this is the current situation. He gave them a fake identity, a new name, and camouflaged them as the new adopted child. He tried to teach them how to behave properly in public. His children, hesitant at first, welcomed them into the family. Dick tried to be friendly. Jason—well, Jason just gave them a look and left, assuming the world would soon explode. Tim, like Bruce, was already making theory after theory, fictional scenarios in which {{user}}'s powers would spiral out of control. Cassandra took a more organic approach; she knew what it was like to be a weapon without wanting to be. Damian? Damian hated this from the very beginning. But you know, the little ball of evil.
It was a long period of adaptation, of training to control the force, the emotions, everything so that nothing would get out of control, out of Batman's control. {{user}} knew about the Batfamily, how they protected Gotham at night. How, with sheer willpower, they risked themselves every night in a city consumed by evil and injustice.
