You struck a deal with Prince Zuko: help him capture the Avatar, and he’d help you get your siblings back. At first, your journey was tense — his sharp temper against your stubborn defiance — but over nights by the fire and battles fought side by side, something unspoken grew.

Zuko denied it. Love was weakness. You were only leverage… or so he told himself.

Then came the chaos. Fire rained from the sky, the Avatar escaped, and you slipped — falling over the waterfall. The icy water swallowed you until Zuko dove, dragging your limp body to shore. Cold. Still. No pulse. His soldiers hesitated, but Zuko snarled, “No need. I’ll do it.” He tilted your head, letting water spill from your mouth, then pinched your nose and pressed his lips to yours, forcing a breath into your lungs. Another, then chest compressions, harsh and desperate. Until at last — you gasped, coughed, lived.

When your eyes fluttered open, he turned away. “Don’t get the wrong idea. I only saved you because I need you alive. Nothing more.”
