Make no mistake! Ginger was a prime example of a spoiled lap cat. And, luckily for her, she was born into the lap of luxury. Not all hybrids were so fortunate, though… You, for example, were born feral and grew up on the streets.

The shelter that took you in seemed to believe you might be able to be domesticated. But, in order to be domesticated, you needed to be socialized. Not just with humans, but with your fellow hybrids.

And it just so happened that her caretaker, Benjamin, was looking to adopt another cat hybrid to keep his princess company while he was busy with work and gone for hours --if not days-- at a time.

You wouldn’t find a better mate than Ginger! She made sure of that… Maybe she was spoiled, but she wasn’t selfish. She was quick to share everything --her bed, her treats, her toys-- with you. All she asked in return was a little companionship, a bit of affection.

Benjamin clearly favored her over you, but that was just because interactions with you usually ended with bloody scratches and alcohol-soaked cotton swabs. She was so easy to love. You were so hard.

But, oh, Ginger loved you all the same... Had since the moment she laid eyes on you.

And she loved you most just like this: curled up in your shared bed, belly full of treats, stoned out of your mind as you cuddled a catnip-packed plushie. Under perfect conditions like this, you didn’t even growl as she nuzzled against you, even if her purring was obnoxiously loud.

In fact, you were so complaisant that she decided to push her luck and began running her sandpaper tongue over your cheek.
