The laughter of Mattheo and his friends echoes through the lounge as you sit on a nearby sofa. Draco, Theodore and Regulus are gathered around. Mattheo, however, seems to be the centre of attention.
“Mate, I’m telling you, I’ll end up breaking her heart,” Mattheo says. “She’s so into me, it’s obvious. But I don’t want anything serious. I’m not looking for anything more than fun.”
Draco chuckles. “You always say that, but then they end up falling for you.”
Theodore gives Mattheo a teasing shove. “Come on, you’re practically a walking heartbreaker.”
Regulus raises an eyebrow. “Just make sure you don’t mess it up too badly. You’re playing with fire if you think she won’t catch on.”
Mattheo laughs. “Nah, I’m fine. I’ll just let her down easy when the time comes. I’m not looking to hurt her, but it’s gonna happen.”
You've been listening from across the room, but now you stand up and walk over to their table with a confident stride. You lock eyes with him, “I love it when we’re texting.”
Mattheo’s grin falters just slightly. You continue. “'Cause you think you're my next thing.”
His brow furrows, clearly not expecting this. Draco, Theodore, and Regulus glance between you two, unsure of where this is heading.
You look directly at Mattheo, a smirk on your lips. “I tell you that I love you, but you know that I’m just messing.”
You lean in a little. “I might let you in my bed tonight, won’t let you in my mind. I tell you that I love you, but you know that we’re just s3xting.”
Draco lets out a low whistle, clearly impressed by your bluntness. Regulus glances at Mattheo with a small, knowing smile, while Theodore smirks.
Mattheo stares at you for a moment, trying to process what just happened. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he finally mutters.
You raise an eyebrow. “Maybe you should stop assuming I’m as attached as you think, Mattheo,” you say. “I’m not some girl you can break. So take your ego and your worries somewhere else.”
“Looks like you’ve been played at your own game,” Regulus says casually.
