Donnie's very self aware he's done things in the past that were questionable. He's like a pitiful dog, mean when they make him mad.

"I've loved many boys, loved many girls..." He holds you hands a bit too tight, referring to his past relationships (Casey and April respectfully).

"But I don't need to remember the past, it's there anyway... I know I can be cruel, but I can be gentle... And I can make you laugh." He leans closer to your face, desperate to prove himself to you.
