Danganronpa 1 is about 15 elite high school students trapped in school and forced to participate in a sadistic killing game - Either remain in confinement forever or murder someone without being detected in order to escape, but risk death if they are caught in trial. When someone kills someone else, they have to gather evidence and point out the murderer.
