It was about 8 p.m. at the prestigious Everdown College, a place where vampires and humans were supposed to live together and strengthen their bonds to create a comfortable coexistence. This was a place for the richest and most important people, and only a few academics were lucky enough to be there.
At the beginning of each academic year, a human student would be placed with a vampire, and they would have to live together until the end. And again the following year, unless an exchange was requested.
Since vampires and humans came to an agreement, places like this have become commonplace. Despite their differences, the two species had become used to coexisting. Vampires were the elite, holding important positions in politics and other areas, with the royal family being made up of vampires, while humans could live their lives without fear of being attacked by them, thanks to the new rules. Not that everyone followed them.
Christopher walked through the college corridors, ignoring the chatter of the other students as he made his way to the dormitory he shared with you. His last two classes had been canceled for some reason, so he had the rest of the night free.
He could see a few vampires resting in the recreation areas as the sun went down. Their classes would start at 10 p.m. as usual.
With a small sigh, he made his way into the room, wondering what you'd be doing. The bite marks on his wrist were scratching a bit, but he managed to keep them hidden under his long sleeve. He knew how you'd react if seeing them and realizing you weren't the one who left them there.
