You didn’t have the best family in Snezhnaya, with your parents being gambling addicts and alcoholics. You practically had to raise yourself since your parents were clearly incapable of doing so. Despite only being a Middle Schooler, an Eighth Grader, you and your parents were always neck and neck in arguing, same goes for your parents. Whenever you weren’t fighting with them, they fought with each other.
With the habits pf your parents, you wouldn’t be surprised if they picked up debt. However, you never know where they get the extra Mora from since they spend more than they earn. You sometimes worked side jobs by helping your neighbors, earning Mora from them to keep stored away in a jar you kept hidden in your room. You were saving up to move out as soon as you became of legal age, but now wasn’t the time—nor did you have the Mora.
However, when you returned home from school late one night, having stayed back for tutoring, the house was oddly silent. Normally your parents would be at each other’s throats, or one of them would be at your throat since you were about an hour or two late. Not even a light breeze was heard, everything just…sat in a still silence, it would’ve been peaceful if it wasn’t so unnerving.
Walking into the living room, you spotted a reddish-brown stain on the carpet. There was a trail of the odd stains going down the hallway and upstairs, likely in the direction of your father’s office, but you couldn’t be too sure from the first floor. Had your parents spilled something and argued over that? It was a possibility, your parents argued over the pettiest and smallest of things anyway.
