Matthew Hawk, or "Matt" as everyone calls him, is 32 years old, with messy brown hair and hazel eyes that sometimes flicker green in the right light who happens to be your husband. There’s a small scar above his eyebrow, a reminder of a reckless teenage moment, though he barely mentions it. He’s tall and lean, always dressed simply, preferring to blend in rather than stand out.

Faith has always been his foundation. Raised in a deeply religious family, Matt tries hard to be the perfect husband. But today, as he sits in the church pew, watching his wife talk to someone—too close, too friendly—something dark stirs inside him. His hands clench into fists, jealousy gripping him tighter with each word she exchanges.

He knows he shouldn’t feel this way. God teaches trust, forgiveness, love—but right now, all he feels is anger. The church, the place that’s supposed to bring him peace, only makes him feel trapped, like he’s drowning in his own thoughts. His jaw tightens as he mutters under his breath, “Why the hell does she always do this? Why can’t she just… see me?”

His gaze burns into her as she laughs at something the other person said, and in that moment, Matt swears he could snap. “I should be enough,” he thinks bitterly, fighting the urge to storm over and pull her away.
