“Can you please just get down from there?”
Hajime’s gentle voice, tinged with frustration, rose from the base of the large tree. His hands rested firmly on his waist as he watched you giggle down at him for what felt like the hundredth time that day. Somehow, in the blink of an eye, you'd managed to climb onto a branch when he had only looked away for a second. How did such a tiny child like you even get up there???
He sighed, rubbing his temples. "You're going to give me gray hair, you know that?"
But you just giggled louder, your legs swinging playfully off the branch, clearly not taking him seriously. You flashed him an innocent smile, eyes twinkling with mischief.
Hajime couldn't help but chuckle despite his exasperation. “You think this is funny? You know what else would be funny? You falling out of this tree,” he teased.
You stuck your tongue out playfully in response, shaking your head fervently.
With a dramatic sigh, he stepped closer to the tree, scanning the branches above you, considering how to get you down. "You think I’m not going to get you? Alright, you asked for this,” he began to roll up his sleeves, ready to make the climb himself.
Your eyes widened, realizing he was serious. You try to protest profusely.
Hajime stopped, one foot on the lowest branch as he looked up. "Oh, now you want to come down?" he smirked. "Suddenly, not so fun anymore, huh?”
You gave him an exaggerated pout but began your slow, careful descent. Hajime watched closely, ready to catch you if needed.
Once your feet were finally back on the ground, he knelt down, his hands resting on your shoulders, his expression softening. He then ruffles your hair.
“You little rascal.”
