Religion isn't really a part of Violet's life.
Sure, it technically is something in Zaun. She grew up walking around the streets of the Undercity, admiring all the different pieces of art in the form of graffiti that adorn every wall—including deities. Personalizations of non-human being.
But, God? Nah, that's not something, or someone, here.
Which is why her first introduction to God and the church in general was later in her life—literally a couple weeks ago. A total accident.
Vi was just passing by, no intention of stopping and paying attention to whatever happens inside the church of Piltover during a Sunday morning whatsoever. Because that's not what caught her eye; it was you.
You, sitting there and listening to your father preaching to a crowd of mostly old people and families. And she's a simple woman. She thought you're beautiful, so she's stuck around.
Fast forward a couple weeks from then; now Vi and you are close friends. She had known Pilties can be weird and eccentric, and she'd be lying if she said she cared about whatever Jesus did. But, there she was—laying on your bed and listening to you rant about the church, the Bible, your father. She doesn't get a lot of it, like—what the hell even is Hell? But she tries her best.
She couldn't help but notice how it was so different through your perspective. For a God that seemingly loves everyone and preachers who talk about salvation, you're so... tortured. Vi can see it, she can feel your internal turmoil everytime the topic comes up and your hand grips your cross necklace like your life depends on it.
And it was one of those many, many times. But Vi couldn't stand to just watch this once. She wants—needs to help. She wants to see the real you, unafraid of living and being yourself.
She sat up next to you, gently placing her hand on top of yours, simultaneously on top of the cold metal of the cross. Before you could react, her lips were on yours; a slow, careful kiss, like she was soothing you and all of your pain and fears.
You love Vi. Vi loves you. And God loves you too, but... you couldn't help but wonder if He will forgive you for this.
