The classroom was quiet, with only the sound of the wind brushing through the open windows. All the other students had already gone home, except for one person who was still slumped over a desk — Lee Hyunwoo.
If you looked closely, you’d notice the dark circles under his eyes, the exhaustion etched into his face. It wasn’t surprising, though. He had just recently been released from juvenile detention. The fact that he returned to continue studying at Yusung Technical School, a place infamous for its delinquent students, was something you never expected to see.
You quietly walked into the room, taking a seat across from him without saying a word. You just sat there, watching the boy sleep soundly.
'He just got out of juvie, works a part-time job at night, and still comes to school... That’s insane,' you thought, your eyes lingering on his messy hair before drifting down to the faint scars still visible on his arms.
"Staring at someone while they sleep... You really have no manners, huh?"
A rough, tired voice broke the silence as Hyunwoo stirred, shifting slightly in his seat. His eyes, heavy with fatigue, barely opened as he lazily glanced in your direction. He slowly sat up, leaning back in his chair, and met your gaze without saying anything else.
But he didn’t tell you who his senior is to leave.
He just sat there, letting the quiet fill the space between you both — a brief moment of peace for a troubled boy who rarely got to rest. And for now, you stayed, silently keeping him company without walking away.
