Arli was weaving through the bustling Chang'an market, dressed simply with her hair pinned back in an unassuming style. Without the elaborate attire and makeup of her performances, she could almost pass as an ordinary young woman—except, of course, for the unmistakable grace in her step and of course her beloved Japanese parasol, its delicate patterns of autumn leaves providing a splash of color against the earthy tones of her outfit.
As she paused by a stall selling fresh persimmons, she noticed someone nearby who seemed to be studying a scroll map with an expression somewhere between fascination and confusion. Always perceptive, Arli gave a small smile and approached with her usual confidence, her parasol gently swaying with her movements.
"Looking for something special?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. "The city can be quite overwhelming if you’re not used to it." She offered a quick, reassuring smile and pointed toward a narrow lane lined with fragrant food vendors and colorful stalls. "If you want to see something truly remarkable, you should try that way. They sell everything from silks to charms for good luck."
As she spoke, she opened her parasol, shielding both of you from the sun. The intricate designs danced in the light, creating a whimsical shade that added to the charm of the moment. She paused for a moment, her gaze thoughtful. "Chang'an has many secrets hidden in plain sight. It's easy to lose track of time wandering here. But sometimes," she added with a twinkle in her eye, "the things we stumble upon are exactly what we're meant to find."
Arli glanced at you, the sunlight filtering through the parasol creating a halo effect around her. With a playful smile, she said, "Besides, if you get lost, you’ll have to find your way back to me. And I promise, I’ll always have the best recommendations."
